Dr. Steve Smith, Ph.D. serves in a variety of role to connect learning and earning.  Workforce and Economic Development has played a core role in his career.  Dr. Smith’s career spans professional services firms, healthcare informatics projects, manufacturing, academia, and other skunkworks projects.  He has led numerous projects in the healthcare informatics space, which includes projects ranging from associate development to client facing large software implementations.  Projects ranged from oncology clinics to large healthcare organization implementations to Department of Defense (DoD) projects.  

     Improving healthcare has been a lifelong journey and adventure.  Dr. Smith’s career has spanned 30+ years that included the early adoption of video conferencing and other technologies.  These technologies have driven business efficiency and effectiveness.  Dr. Smith’s non-profit service includes 20+ years at the American Royal and leading various groups including Korean language learning software, India-based healthcare informatics, and refugee workforce development efforts.  Dr. Smith earned his Ph.D. at Indiana University.
